What the...

This is a UX experiment — messenger where you can show your true emotions. Have you ever felt like screaming in chat using very big letters? Like, REALLY BIG LETTERS? For those cases when caps lock is not enough, I created this chat prototype. Maybe one day it will be possible to send messages like this in other chat apps.

How to use it?

Type text like in the regular chat. Send a message by pressing Enter or Ctrl/Cmd + Enter to add message “from” your opponent (yes, you can talk to yourself if you are bored).

In the emotional moment, press and hold the Shift ⇧ key. The progress bar will start filling and the type will start increasing. Once you start typing with the Shift key still pressed — the font weight and size will stop increasing. Once you release the Shift ⇧ key — you will have limited amount of time to send the message before the large font effect disappears.

Disclaimer

THIS DEMO DOESN'T WORK ON MOBILE! And this is only a prototype, not a fully-working chat. Nobody will respond to you (unless you have schizophrenia). This prototype was only tested in the latest version of Chrome and Safari and may not work in other browsers correctly. If you run into any issues or just want to say hi, my DMs on Twitter are open!
